Homework is in a monthly format that will need to be completed in their homework binder on looseleaf paper. We want to make homework fun, hands-on and practical for everyday life as much as we can and will try and include learning activities in many areas including reading, math, science, social studies and writing but it will require parental help and assistance at times. If you see the word extra credit written down for an assignment then your child does not have to do this assignment but if they are able and would like to then they can. They will be higher level thinking assignments and we challenge all our students to attempt them if they can. Each night your child will have homework but they do NOT need to turn it in until FRIDAY! On Fridays, your child will receive four participation grades for the week for each assignment they completed. We are doing this so your child can complete their homework around their schedule. You can do it nightly, all in one night or whatever works best around your life such as church, baseball practice, etc. We will not check homework until FRIDAY, so please make sure to turn in their binders on Friday morning. We would like you to use one sheet of paper for the whole week so it will be easy to check. You can label it with the day of the week and have them do their work below it to section it off or have them do their work and just draw lines to separate each day.
